BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1979 he started playing classical guitar at the age of 9. Two years later he switched to electric guitar, in order to be able to play blues and rock music. Through his first teacher he came in contact with the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton and other blues/rock guitarists. That's when it all started...
During his school time he played in various Rock/Pop Bands such as Blue Denim (Southern Rock), Kurzschluss (Deutschrock), Horsch Emohl (Pop/Rock Covers). Also he joined the Big Band of his school.
After school he started his musical studies at the Jazz und Rockschule Freiburg were he attended classes by Frank Haunschild, Max Zentawer, Gary Barone and other great teachers. In this time he played in the JMS Big Band Neustadt and the ORSO - Rock Symphony Orchestra.
Two years later he got accepted at the Conservatory in Arnhem/the Netherlands. There he finished his bachelor studies for jazz guitar. During that time he was able to learn from teachers as Frank Sichmann, Hazel Leach, Michael Gustorff and Bernhard Reinke. Also he attended some great workshops with David Liebman, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mike Stern, Steve Swallow and many others.
Micha lives since 2006 in Amsterdam and has recently finished masters degree. He plays all over the Netherlands and Germany in various formations. His steady groups cover a great variety of styles: from Latin to modern Jazz up to Drum&Bass. You can see details about his bands/projects [here] on this site.
